Based on the ideology that windfalls from land utilization should be shared by the whole citizens and the resource should be in a manner of sustainable use, the objectives of the national reclaimed lands are
i) to effect the development of the levee according to the development of the rural and urban areas so that to foster local prosperities;
ii) to proceed the green and beautification works for the levees so as to improve the environmental quality and raise the living standard of the citizens;
iii) to coordinate with government's policy to provide the land for infrastructure construction;
iv) to create the land reservation for future uses. For approaching these objectives, the key elements of the Office's future works are
a. To implement individual development and utilization projects for the nation levees;
b. To increase private participation in the development projects;
c. To set up the national levee information system; and
d. To accelerate checking and evacuation of illegal occupation of the reclaimed lands.
